Valentine’s Day Run

Today’s Valentines Day Run. Yes, a perfect example of why I love running with TVRC. So to start the run, Arlene hands out bags of treats. She thought we might need something to look forward to at the end of today’s run since it is Valentine’s Day. Next comes Terri. Four days ago I mentioned that it might be fun to run 14 miles on the 14th of February to celebrate Valentines Day. Terri draws up a 14 mile map which includes a stop at her house where she has water and energy bars waiting for us just after mile 7.

And then the run itself. The last time I ran anything more than 13.1 miles was 1995. Sure, I have run a number of half-marathons but never felt the need to run even 1/10th of a mile more, or even train over 10 miles for a race. So thanks to our wonderful group I am excited to run the longest distance I have done in 25 years. Because this group loves to run and on Sundays, we run long! I had a harder time than I had expected and end up having to walk-run my last few miles on my way back to Lake Sumter Landing.

Upon my return I see John, Rudy, Fawn and Barbie waiting there to make sure I finish. They were even more of a welcome sight than Arlene’s bag of treats. That’s why I run with TVRC!
