It’s time to welcome back most of our snowbirds to Florida and time to kick into high gear our TVRC activities. This month there are lots of events to bring runners together both on the run and socially! First up is the TVRC apparel purchase. The order form below should be downloaded, completed and returned to Dianne Schultz by October 3rd. She has samples available if you have questions on the colors or sizes of the various items. The next event is a run being organized by Joanne Welch & Missy Treakle out at the Santos Trailhead in Ocala on October 10th. A variety of distances are available as the paved trail runs for 15 miles, but starting from the pavilion runners can select most any distance as an out and back run. Make sure to allow some time after your run for socializing and snacking back at the pavilion. This will be a great opportunity to check out the trail which can be used for long bike rides as well as runs. Water will be available at the start of the run and bottles will provided at one point along the course. Bathrooms are available only at the start of the course. Our Monthly Membership meeting is scheduled for October 14th. We will meet outside in the Colony Cottage Recreation Center Pavilion. Don’t miss the unveiling of our new microphone and speaker! Another of the items on tap for this meeting is board member elections. If you are interested in being a part of the TVRC board, particularly in the role of Vice President, please contact John Campbell or Trish Chandler who can share information about the role as well as add you to the slate of candidates. The Running of the Squares is returning in-person on October 23! This race will start at the Brownwood Square. We have a team entry so make sure you select TVRC as your group when you are signing up for the race. This is a fun event close to home so consider making it your return to racing. The link for the sign-up is available on our website Calendar page under the Running of the Squares event on the 23rd.
Lastly, Mark Rossini will be sponsoring our Home Run this month. We will gather at the Rossini household for a Halloween Run on Sunday, October 31. Plan to run in costume! Details are to follow on FB.
