October Monthly Membership Meeting

10/14/2021 Meeting Minutes

  • 15 Members attended this month’s meeting, held at the picnic tables at Colony Rec Center.
  • Lizann reviewed minutes from last month’s meeting, covering the Holiday PJ and Book drive, the raffle winners for race entries to the Mount Dora Half (Alice T) and the LifeSouth Race weekend in Gainesville (Shawn R).  She also reviewed the upcoming election process and gave a summary of our fall apparel sale.
  • Mark Rossini covered our 2021 financial summary.  We have taken in approximately $1300 in membership dues, and earned a profit of approximately $300 on apparel sales (prior to our latest sales period).  We currently have 52 full time members and 4 snow bird members.  We have over $900 in the bank after paying for our TVRC banner, team canopy, microphone, and night golf.
  • Our Holiday Party will be held on Thursday December 9, at Lizann and Scott Atkin’s home.  The meal and dessert will be catered (TBD) using club funds, drinks are BYOB.  Party will be indoor/outdoor with plenty of room to spread out.  Lizann will post an event and will ask for members to RSVP to help get an accurate count for catering ordering.  Spouses and significant others are definitely welcome!
  • TVRC club runs will return to our later 7 AM start time beginning Sunday November 7!  (This is the same day that our clocks ‘fall back’ an hour).
  • October / November Upcoming Events:

    • TVRC has created a team to attend the Groveland Turkey Trot 5K and 10K, to be held on Thanksgiving morning.  Race begins at 7:15 AM.  Rides will be available via car pools, more info coming as date gets closer.
  • Betsy Suda, from Suda’s Fit Foot, was our guest speaker for October.  Betsy owns a mobile shoe and running apparel store and has visited us before.  This time, Betsy demonstrated several simple warm up and cool down stretches using resistance bands.  TVRC appreciated Betsy’s time and several members shopped at her store after the meeting.
