The November TVRC members meeting was held on November 9, 2023 at Colony Rec Center.
John Valasco gave a quick welcome and introduction. He then recognized several members that have recently completed significant races:
- David Kurman, Matt Mang, and Kathleen Murphy – NY City Marathon
- Kerri Prue – Wizz Air Venice Marathon
- Greg Houston – Marine Corps 50K
- Valerie Miller – Chicago Marathon
Our November meeting is typically when our annual officer elections are held. New officers were elected to the following positions beginning January 1. Congratulations to our 2024 TVRC Board Members!!
- President – Dianne Schultz
- Vice President – Jean Homan
- Treasurer – Mark Rossini
- Secretary – Sheri Michel
- In addition, John Valasco will remain on the board for 2024 in the position of Past President.
Lisa Johnson spoke about her experience at Orange Theory over the past month, and she has arranged a 1 hour free class for TVRC members. The class will be held on Wednesday December 6 at 1PM at Orange Theory in Sumter Landing. Please arrive 30 minutes early. Sign up is required and only 24 spots are available. John V spoke about some non running social activities that Sue Bonzey is organizing for our club. These will include activities such as kickball, pickleball, a pool party, and night golf. More info and dates will be coming as the events are scheduled.
Our 2023 Holiday party is scheduled for January 11, 2024 at the Lake Miona Rec Center, from 5 to 8 PM. RSVP is required. A google form will be posted later this week to handle RSVPs. All paid members are invited (including non-residents) and they may bring 1 guest. The main entrees and paper products will be provided by TVRC funds, and each member is asked to sign up to bring a dish to pass. Please BYOB of choice. Entertainment will be provided, and please dress in holiday festive attire!
Our next Southern Adventure run will be held on Sunday December 3 from Sawgrass, beginning at 7 AM. Multiple distances will be planned.
The meeting ended and members were invited to go to Fleet Feet’s Customer Appreciation sale from 5:30 to 7:30.
